Materials used…Mostly….

So this is what I originally THOUGHT my materials were (I’ll explain in a sec)

  • 2 large containers

  • 2 smaller containers (that can fit inside the larger ones)

  • Lemons

  • Flowers (artificial or real)

The Final Decision

Honest Crafter Moment: when I originally bought the materials for this project, I THOUGHT I wanted to use the berries in the first pic. Once I got started that idea faded sooooo fast! It’s a good thing I fell in love with the flowers at the craft store and took a random pic of them! Here are the flowers that I ultimately decided on using (before I cut them up).

Cut the Flowers

Now that I have FINALLY settled on what I wanted in the glasses, I am going to cut the flowers so they fit nicely when I arrange them

I’m using artificial flowers simply because I am crafty but I am sorely lacking a “green thumb”. I want this display to last longer than 3.7 seconds so I’m using craft store flowers. Please feel free to use real flowers if you wish!

Slice the Lemons

Thinly slice the lemons so that they will fit in between the two vases.

Arrange the lemons

First, put the smaller container and fit it inside of the larger one. Next, take the thin sliced lemons and fit them in between the smaller container and the larger one.

Fill it in

Add the lemon slices all around the container. Try to cover up the blank spaces or arrange them in columns and rows (like I stumbled across doing).

Make it Rain

I couldn’t resist the cheesy title 😆 Add water to the larger container to help preserve the lemon slices.

Finalize the arrangement

If you need help arranging the lemon slices, then use a butter knife to help move the slices into place (please use caution).

Arrange the flowers

Place the flowers in the smaller container. Add water to the smaller container if you’re using real flowers

Finished!

Here is the finished project and I love how it looks (and smells)! It’s really easy to put together and can be as inexpensive as you want. This project is perfect to shake off the winter blues as you welcome the beauty of spring!

Honest Crafter Moment:

Sooooo this project took me a few tries to “figure out” before I was happy with it (hence the materials pic shenanigans). I tried just the faux berries, the colorful flowers, and a combination of both. I finally realized that I preferred the yellow flowers and that’s the one I went with. I’m an “honest crafter” so here are the attempts to figure out what I liked #Transparent
